Over two thousand years ago, a Roman politician named Cicero engaged and captivated audiences both in the senate and on the parched sands of the Roman Empire. Cicero was hailed as one of the greatest orators of his time, because he understand one simple fact: to leave a lasting impression on a crowd, you had to grab their attention and hold their hearts.
I’m no Cicero. But I understand that speaking to an audience involves preparation, passion, and poise. When speaking to a crowd, I seek to share first and promote second. The value that I strive to pass on to an audience is the value that we all receive from different perspectives and opened eyes, minds, and hearts.
